Residents of DMCI Homes’ condominium communities in Southern Metro Manila recently joined hands to raise donations for the benefit of the Little Angels Home, Inc. (LAHI) in Tagaytay City, Cavite.
The communities namely Alea Residences in Bacoor, City Cavite; Asteria Residences, Calathea Place, and Siena Park Residences in Parañaque City; Maricielo Villas, Palm Grove and Ohana Place in Las Piñas City; and Willow Park Homes in Cabuyao, Laguna gathered sacks of rice, food items, bottled water, health care products, toys, clothes and other needed supplies to donate to the orphanage which is providing love and care to abandoned and orphaned babies and toddlers.
Residents and property managers of the communities drove to Tagaytay to turn over the pooled donations last December 8.
Jessie Ohoylan, DMCI Homes Property Management Corporation’s South Area Manager said the communities decided to hold the “Hopeful Holidays” donation drive to support the management and children beneficiaries of Little Angels Home, Inc. knowing that orphanages have also bore the brunt of the pandemic.
“We thank our residents who graciously donated to our Hopeful Holidays project. It’s heartwarming to see them come together to help the kids here in Little Angels,” Ohoylan said.
DMCI Homes communities homeowners like Amina Chowdhury of Maricielo Villas and Perry Araullo of Siena Park Residences, meanwhile thanked DMCI Homes property managers for organizing “Hopeful Holidays” noting the many benefits of outreach projects to condo residents.
“Nakakagaan ng pakiramdam lalo ngayong may pinagdadaanan tayo na pandemic. Kasi once you give anything, any help, or may nakaka-collaborate ka or may nakakausap ka na iba at nagkakaroon kayo ng teamwork or grupo, nakakagaan ng pakiramdam. Nakakataba ng puso,” Chowdhury shared.
Moreover, outreach activities help nurture a sense of community among condo residents, Araullo pointed out.
“Noong nalaman namin na may ganitong activity, hindi kami nagdalawang-isip na sumama kasi ang puso ng mga taga-Siena Park ay laging nakagabay sa ganitong mga activity lalo na para sa mga bata,” Araullo beamed.
Oak Harbor Residences Community Outreach
Meanwhile, residents of Oak Harbor Residences also made this Christmas extra special for 42 elderly people and six abandoned children at the House of Somang (House of Hope) orphanage in Parañaque City by donating food packs, groceries, hygiene products, diapers, clothes, toys and books.
The turnover of donations was made this December 22.
