Inspired by Life in Singapore, These OFW Parents Chose a Transit-Oriented Condo at The Oriana
Joshua and Claribelle’s family during the turnover of their unit.
For Joshua and Claribelle, choosing a home in the Philippines came down to one clear priority: accessibility.
As OFWs in Singapore, where efficient transport shapes daily routines, they knew they wanted a property that could offer the same level of convenience whenever they returned home.
That priority led them to The Oriana, DMCI Homes’ latest ready-for-occupancy development along Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City.
Accessibility as the Deciding Factor
Access to reliable, everyday transport became the single biggest reason behind their decision. Located steps from LRT-2 Anonas Station, The Oriana offered something they immediately recognized as valuable: the ability to move around the city quickly and easily.
“Nasa tapat ng LRT. It’s really convenient,” Joshua said. He also noted how close the station is, describing it as just a short walk away. “You can just walk to Anonas Station which is 100 steps away? So yeah, for people who are really into convenient transport, this is one of the places you can go.”
The Oriana is located within a corridor where multiple rail systems converge.
Coming from Singapore, their expectations were shaped by experience. “For Singapore, everywhere you go, there’s trains, buses,” Joshua shared. “So, in terms of buying factors, around 99% was based on this consideration.”
For Joshua and Claribelle, this wasn’t just a feature. It was the deciding factor.
Planning for their Future
The location also supported their long-term plans. Claribelle shared that they are already considering their children’s future, particularly proximity to schools and universities.
“We also considered our kids. Malapit siya sa universities, malapit sa Ateneo,” she said. “Or if mag-Manila man ang kids namin, nandiyan ang LRT, mabilis lang ang travel in between.” She added, “We’re in the middle of everything we need, that’s why we chose this.”
Joshua also pointed to the added value of future developments in the area, including the Metro Manila Subway Project, which will have an Anonas station nearby.
Beyond its transport links, The Oriana is situated near Quezon City’s university town where Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, and UP Diliman are located.
“We heard from the government there will be a subway, so malapit din siya dito,” he said. Combined with the existing LRT access, this further strengthens the property’s appeal as a well-connected address.
A Space That Feels Like Home
Beyond connectivity, the overall environment of The Oriana reinforced their choice.
“When I entered the lobby area, it’s quite elegant,” Claribelle said. “Parang relaxing in terms of the ambiance and the spaciousness of the place.”
As an architect, she paid close attention to the materials and finishes. “I would touch and feel all the materials that are used, like if it’s real stone or real wood. I like the ceiling. Ang ganda niya! Gusto ko siya kasi very homey, pero elegant. That’s what I like in this place.”
The elegant design of The Oriana’s open lounge left a strong impression on Claribelle, an architect.
For Claribelle and Joshua, The Oriana is not just a place where they can settle in comfortably whenever they return to the Philippines. It is also a home that supports the life they have built and continue to plan for.
“Being OFWs, choosing a particular home to go back to when we are here in the Philippines, normally weeks lang eh,” Joshua said. “So, we can say, going back here, we’re happy.”
For them, the decision was straightforward: a home where everything is within reach, and one that reflects both their present needs and their future plans.
