When Amina Chowdhury was looking for a home for her family to settle in in the metro in 2013, one medium-rise condominium caught her eye because of its unique architectural theme and lush greenery.
The condominium turned out to be Maricielo Villas, DMCI Homes Spanish Mission architecture-inspired development along Casimiro Road in Las Piñas City.
"The thing that attracted me the most living in Maricielo Villas is its unique beauty and landscapes because we are also in the landscaping and construction business for 25 years abroad," the 45-year-old educator shared.
"We also like it that it is low-rise and was built with quality materials. It is also located near markets and the airport so it is perfect for our family," she added.
Built for young upwardly-mobile families, Maricielo Villas features five mid-rise buildings and exciting amenities spread across a one-hectare expanse.
The property has a wide array of resort-inspired amenities such as leisure pool, kiddie pool, open lawn, and fitness gym to give residents a vacation home while enjoying the conveniences of city life.
But more than the condominium's architectural features and relaxing resort ambiance, Amina is delighted to have found a community of loving residents who do not hesitate to come together especially in times of need.
The mother of three was able to prove this especially during the community quarantine when Maricielo Villas residents united to be of service to those who really need help and support in this difficult situation.
"We became a one big family, lifting each other in these trying times. We saw the cooperation of everyone towards our goal," Amina enthused.
As one of the members of Marcelo Villas’ Community Development Council, Amina led her neighbors in doing bayanihan to attend to the needs of residents especially the elderly.
The Community Development Council likewise organized donation activities for their community frontliners to show how they are appreciated and valued for keeping the community clean and safe during the quarantine.
"Serving and caring for the community and its residents kept us busy during the lockdown. We worked together with the residents to ensure that Maricielo Villas is a COVID-19 free community for our families and our community frontliners' safety," Amina related.
"We did bayanihan and offered assistance to those in need especially the senior citizens. We reached out to comfort each other and extended our helping hand to all members of the community," added Amina who is the first unit owner to become a member of Maricielo Villas' Board of Trustees.
Nonetheless, Amina is praying that the pandemic will soon be over so they could continue organizing more community development activities for the residents.
"We have community celebrations during Halloween, during the Holiday season, New Year and Valentine's Day to cheer up our residents especially the seniors and those who are away from their loved ones," Amina said.
"Aside from community-building activities, we also organized first aid seminars and launched a plan for safety evacuation in case of an earthquake,” she continued.
For Amina, times may be hard but there are still a lot of reasons to be grateful for such as the unity and friendship forged among residents of the Maricielo Villas community.
"I’m grateful to live in a community with a pleasant environment and friendly residents who are willing to help out no matter the circumstance. These make me love living here in Maricielo Villas," Amina beamed.
