INSIDE her condominium unit at the Magnolia Place in Quezon City, Dr. Gladys Belmonte feels like it’s always a weekend outing---her balcony opens up to the refreshing view of the poolside and manicured landscapes. From her office table by the master bedroom, the natural light and the morning and night breeze generously come in, making her little study-work station conducive to work in.
On some days, she asks friends and relatives to come over for a simple gathering, catching up or hosting birthday dinners in her unit which they find a perfect go-to-place. Her purchase meant she doesn’t need to drive as far as Tagaytay or Subic for some weekend pampering. All these, she says, she gets in Magnolia Place.
Indeed, DMCI Homes’ Magnolia Place in Quezon City has afforded Doctor Belmonte the very essentials she wanted for her dream home---a resort country home she always wanted for herself and 9-year-old son, Air.
For more than a year now, they live in a corner unit at Magnolia Place. But every day, she says, she falls in love with her unit because it practically mirrors what she had dreamt of a long time ago. “I have always wanted a space that is ample, airy, not cramped and dimly lit” says the 43-year-old dermatologist.
The supposed 3-bedroom unit that she got is draped in pastel colors that are pleasant to the eyes and exudes the beach-vibe. Mounted on the walls are knick-knacks that are reminiscent of one’s summer days---seaside-inspired pieces.
To spruce up this unit, she sought the help of a friend who is an architect and interior designer to turn her harbor into a country-themed 2-bedroom unit. Dr. Gladys, who holds clinic at De Los Santos Medical Center, does her back log work at home while her son’s attending classes at the Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan.
“I enjoy coming home more often in Magnolia place. Little by little I have acquired my furniture and decorative pieces and whenever I see what my home has become it gives me an unparalleled fulfillment and a sense of achievement.”
“I don’t really have to spend my weekend and holidays somewhere else to get the resort living and the seaside feel,” she adds.
Oftentimes, she would be seen at her favorite nook---her two balconies where she spends reading or just merely sightseeing and “chilling out.”
The unit, which was turned over in May 2010, had all the basics and is fully fitted but she had it altered to make space for her things. She had some hidden closets installed to maximize space and a lot of pull-out fixtures. The decision, she says, was consulted with the Property Management Office, who then gave the go-signal to design her unit according to her preference.
Friends who already visited her place were surprised of Magnolia Place. They were not aware that there is such a kind of residential project in the busy Quezon City area near Mindanao Avenue. Magnolia Place is just a stone’s throw away from St James College QC and a few minutes away from the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital.
Falling in love with Magnolia Place
“Even I, was surprised that a resort-style condominium can be found in this highly urbanized community. I have looked at several projects within the city, visited a number of showrooms but when I bumped into Magnolia Place, I knew this was it and I fell in love with the place easily.”
The amenities at Magnolia Place complement her lifestyle. She works out in the gym and swim regularly to keep fit and healthy. Whenever at home with son Air, they usually take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood at night for some mother-and-child bonding or plain “chilling out.” The security at Magnolia Place affords them to do so, with its 24/7 roving security and highly fenced village.
Air, who enjoys biking and basketball, finds it at home with the kids in the community with its basketball court and the resort-inspired clubhouse. She says she always sees Air enjoying with his friends and next-door neighbors on weekends; and she doesn’t have to worry about his security.
Looking back at her decision to buy the unit, Dr. Gladys regrets nothing and is actually thankful that she made a good decision to purchase a unit at Magnolia Place. “The project is delivered on time, and it was a safe investment. The brand’s promise that ‘it feels real good to be home’ is a reality.” The price is also competitive with the ongoing market rates, actually very reasonable with the quality of work that DMCI Homes gives its residents.
Her move-in experience was a breeze. The staffs were helpful and the things she wanted improved were delivered the way she wanted them to be. The Property Management Office was likewise efficient in whatever the residents need, she says. The doctor also finds comfort that Magnolia Place allots utility deck for her laundry chores and other tasks.
“I don’t have to hang my clothes in the balconies like what I’ve noticed in some residential condos where clothes were literally strewn all over and were sore to the eyes,” she notes.
For shopping and grocery needs, the TriNoma Mall and the SM North Edsa give her the needed convenience being in a strategic location in Quezon City.
In more ways than one, the doctor says she finds a good investment for her hard-earned money.
“Bayad ang pagod mo (Hard work pays off),” she says.
