Vincent Sta. Ana and his wife are in a hybrid work set-up, so having a reliable internet connection is important to them. When they were informed that they had subscription-free, commercial-grade fiber internet at their newly turned over unit at Satori Residences in Pasig City, they couldn’t be happier.
“May idea na ako no’ng concept of community internet, pero it was mentioned during the turnover process din,” Vincent recalls. “Naalala namin na, ‘Oo nga pala, merong community internet sa Satori (Residences),’ and doon namin nalaman na puwede nga pala kaming mag-avail niyan.”
Vincent and his wife moved into Satori Residences in 2024. They call the service “icing on the cake.” He says, “It’s very handy.”
To add another layer of icing on that cake, Vincent vividly remembers how fast it took for the Property Management Office (PMO) to install the service: “Naalala ko no’ng first day na mag-move-in talaga kami. Since we are in a hybrid work set-up no’ng wife ko, we really needed the internet to be available as soon as possible. Nagulat kami: Ang strategy kasi namin for moving in was paunti-unti naming ide-deliver ’yong mga gamit namin prior to residing doon sa unit. So, during one of the times na nagbababa kami ng gamit, in-inquire lang namin sa Property Management Office ’yong process for activating the community internet.”
“Nagulat kami na habang nag-bababa kami ng gamit, pumunta na doon ’yong technician, and before kami makaalis, up na ’yong internet namin. Siguro that’s something na di kaya i-provide ng traditional service provider that we found very surprising.”
He reiterates that it’s not just the reliable internet service that helps them with their work. He says the design of Satori Residences, with its wide open spaces and several quiet areas, helps them think and concentrate on the tasks at hand. Sometimes, they would go to the spacious lobby to work.
Vincent says they would even use the community internet for leisure. While he loves streaming videos online during their downtime, his wife, he reveals, likes to watch Kdrama, which she gets from streaming services. Their toddler is also “using” the service to watch kids’ videos, like the Ms. Rachel - Toddler Learning Videos on YouTube.
Compared to other service providers, Vincent says the one offered by Satori Residences can compete: “Before transferring, we availed from a different service provider. Malaki din ’yong binabayaran, e, kahit sa basic na plan na lang ngayon, so the fact that it’s free and that madaling i-activate ’yong service, napakalaking difference niya.”
He adds, “In general, wala talaga kaming bad experience.”
Vincent says it would be great if other developers could also offer this service to their residents. “I’m sure merong operating costs involved, but baka maging cheaper siya in the long run.”
At the end of the day, he says, “I think we got our money’s worth kasi compared to having to pay an additional fee for the internet service.”
Dream come true
Before moving into Satori Residences, Vincent and his family had lived in another DMCI Homes project: Lakeview Manors in Taguig City. Having great experience at Lakeview Manors, they both knew that if they were to build their own home, it would be at a DMCI Homes property.
“Excited kami no’ng na-receive namin ’yong unit,” he recalls. “This is our first real estate property na talagang sa amin, so very special ang Satori sa amin—from starting a family to owning your own property.”
Before moving in, they knew they would be impressed with the design, amenities, and services: “Na-meet ‘yong ine-expect namin na open spaces, spacious amenities, availability ng basketball court. If there is one thing that surprised us talaga is ’yong bilis no’ng activation ng community internet.”
He concludes, “We think ’yong model ng DMCI Homes is providing a condo na may opportunity for community interaction. We think ‘yon ’yong maganda na naging consideration.”
He adds, “’Yong pinagka-nag-differentiate talaga sa kaniya is it’s really designed for an end user: With ’yong pino-provide niya na amenities, open spaces, it really encourages the type of interaction that you would expect from a gated subdivision.”
