Navigating through the maze of Metro Manila's traffic has always been a challenge, from spending hours on the road to waiting for your ride home. Recently, the rising transportation costs are just adding another layer to the struggle.
Thankfully, KC Valeza, a resident of Mulberry Place in Acacia Estates, Taguig City, has found solace in RideShare, an app-based carpool program offered by DMCI Homes for residents of its condo communities.
Living in Mulberry Place, KC regularly uses RideShare to commute to work, take her son to the barber shop, and run errands like grocery shopping. Even her mother uses the service when meeting friends in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
Working in a financial company in BGC, KC only needs to commute to the office once a week. During these commutes, RideShare proves to be a game-changer. “Traveling from here to BGC is quite hard, especially if there’s traffic,” she explains. “So, the fact na nakasakay ka sa van, okay. And dire-diretso ’yon, you don’t have to stop anywhere anymore.”
“It’s very convenient, especially na ‘meron akong anak. Nakaupo lang kami sa van, and mabilis lang ’yong biyahe namin. It’s very beneficial for us.”
‘Exclusive service’
KC reveals that even her workmates find her everyday commute enviable. Sometimes, it takes her less than 30 minutes to get from her home to BGC, and vice versa.
“Lahat ng details—details ng driver, color ng van, plate—nandoon na lahat,” she says. “If you need to cancel, you just scroll.”
Sustainable too
Apart from convenience, KC says the program is also very much helpful to the environment.
“Hybrid na ang mga trabaho, and a lot of people need to go to places outside of the community because of errands,” she explains.
“It’s very good kasi hindi mo kailangan magdala ng sarili mong car. Second, its sustainable. In this day and age, sustainability is very important. Sobrang dami ng nangyayari sa mundo na importanteng pangalagaan natin environment natin and for us not to cause more pollution as much as we can.”
‘Very convenient, reliable’
In terms of security, KC says she feels safe knowing that her ride-mates are from the same community. “Maybe it’s just the Acacia community, everyone is nice here,” she says. She adds, “Ever since I discovered RideShare, hindi na talaga ako sumakay sa iba.”
To conclude, she wants to persuade DMCI residents to take advantage of this unique feature: “I encourage the residents of DMCI to book RideShare either through your mobile app or their messenger. It’s very convenient; they’re very reliable; and I’m pretty sure the ride will be okay.”
