DMCI Homes aims to help boost San Juan, Batangas' growth as leisure and MICE destination

DMCI Homes gave members of the media a glimpse of Solmera Beach Park Resort on August 26, 2026, highlighting its amenities, MICE facilities, and unique beachfront offerings designed for leisure, business, and special events.

Known for its scenic coastline and accessibility from Metro Manila, San Juan, Batangas continues to draw travelers seeking beach experiences close to the capital. The municipality is also gaining traction as a venue for corporate gatherings, conferences, and group events.

The trend reflects the growing appeal of leisure destinations south of Metro Manila. In a recent report, Colliers Philippines noted that strong domestic tourism continues to support the viability of leisure-oriented developments in provinces such as Batangas, which remains among the country's top destinations for overnight travelers. The property consultancy also cited sustained growth in domestic travel and tourism spending as key drivers of investment interest in leisure projects outside the National Capital Region.

DMCI Homes aims to contribute to this momentum through Solmera Beach Park Resort, an integrated leisure and events destination currently under development within its Solmera Coast beachfront estate.

Targeted to open in February 2027, Solmera Beach Park Resort is envisioned to be a beach park resort that caters to both leisure travelers and organized groups. Located within the company's 7.5-hectare beachfront property, the development combines recreational amenities, accommodations, dining outlets, and events facilities in a single destination.

The resort is designed to support the growing demand for destinations where leisure and meetings naturally converge. With facilities for recreation, business events, and social gatherings, Solmera Beach Park Resort aims to complement San Juan's emergence as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

Built for Leisure and Events

A key component of the development is its events infrastructure, which is intended to accommodate corporate functions, conferences, training programs, celebrations, and other group activities.

The resort's convention center will feature a main function hall measuring approximately 811 square meters, complemented by a 419-square-meter veranda. Additional function spaces will be located across the Kartika and Bumi buildings, including roof deck venues designed for meetings, receptions, and special events. Landscaped lawns and open-air areas throughout the property will provide additional venue options for outdoor gatherings.

Accommodation options will include studio units, as well as one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites designed for individuals, families, and groups.

Complementing these facilities is a pool complex spanning more than 4,000 square meters. It will feature a lap pool, kiddie pool, and pool pavilion, along with landscaped open spaces and lounge areas throughout the estate. Guests will also have access to the Sky Deck Infinity Pool and Sky Lounge at the Matahari Building, offering elevated views of the coastline and surrounding landscape.

Outdoor venues at Solmera Beach Park Resort, including landscaped lawns and open-air spaces, provide versatile settings for receptions, celebrations, corporate events, and informal gatherings.

Dining options will be located across different areas of the resort. These include an all-day dining restaurant serving Filipino and international cuisine, a flexible roof deck function room that also operates as a restaurant with breakfast and bar offerings, and a specialty restaurant featuring Filipino classics and fusion dishes. Additional food and beverage options include a lobby bar, snack bar, and food kiosks strategically located around the property. Spa and wellness facilities are also planned.

Supporting the Local Tourism Ecosystem

Beyond serving visitors, DMCI Homes sees Solmera Beach Park Resort contributing to the broader tourism ecosystem in San Juan.

The project, to be operated by DMCI Hospitality and Leisure, Inc. (DMCI Resorts), is expected to generate demand for hospitality services and create opportunities for businesses that support tourism activity. These will include local suppliers, transport providers, tourism partners, and service-oriented enterprises that benefit from increased visitor traffic.

DMCI Homes is also exploring opportunities to work with local government units, schools, TESDA-accredited institutions, and community partners to support workforce readiness, hospitality skills development, internships, and training initiatives.

Future opportunities are expected to span hospitality operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, recreation, events, security, administration, finance, information technology, and other resort-support functions. Qualified local applicants will be given priority consideration while maintaining professional hiring and operational standards.

DMCI Homes President Alfredo Austria said tourism developments can create benefits that extend beyond the property itself.

"We see Solmera Beach Park Resort as an opportunity to contribute to San Juan's growing tourism and events sector," Mr. Austria said. "Beyond welcoming guests, we hope to support the local tourism ecosystem by creating opportunities for skills development, local enterprise participation, and hospitality-related careers within the community."
