Pop-up markets bring goods to condo residents amid quarantine

Residents of several DMCI Homes condominium projects no longer need to leave their communities to go to the market during the Enhanced Community Quarantine, thanks to pop-up markets.

The pop-up stalls, which sell goods on a certain schedule, give residents an opportunity to replenish their supplies at a time when going to the market has become quite a struggle amid the current health crisis caused by the coronavirus disease and due to the procedures implemented under the ECQ.

The deployment of the pop-up markets is a joint effort of each project's Property Management Office and Community Development Council to encourage residents to stay in their homes and help contain the spread of the disease.

Residents of Ivory Wood observe physical distancing while waiting for their turn.

Zinnia Towers in Balintawak, Quezon City also has its own pop-up market every Wednesdays and Sundays.

Other communities like Viera Residences in Quezon City will also be having their own pop-up market in the coming days.

Meanwhile, projects like The Birchwood in Acacia Estates and Mirea Residences in Pasig have developed an online marketplace where residents can buy and sell market goods without leaving their homes.

This innovative effort of the PMO and the community shows how everyone are looking for ways to support and help each other out during these challenging times while working within the boundaries of the community quarantine.
