DMCI Homes shares the gift of reading to neighboring communities

Over 150 kids attended and enjoyed a fun-filled late afternoon last Wednesday (September 21) at the Santo Niño Chapel in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City as DMCI Homes shared the gift of reading through its education and literacy program Bata, TARA Na (Towards A Reading Adventure).

More than the games and gift-giving, the kids were delighted with the story titled A Place Called Home, DMCI Homes' first coloring storybook, which was read by Senior Marketing Research Analyst of the company, Charissa Cortuna.

DMCI Homes Corporate Communications Manager Josephine Cruz shared, "It's always a fulfilling experience to be given the chance to share and reach out to kids. Bata, TARA Na is our way of allowing the kids to discover an exciting learning experience through reading. Aside from the company volunteers, we're very much grateful with the support and participation of barangay residents and the residents of Siena Park Residences."

Making the event more meaningful, residents and the Property Management team of Siena Park Residences (SPR) handed over pre-loved books to the community.

"With the books donated by the residents of SPR, there will be more reasons for these kids to experience new adventures and gain knowledge from reading. We are very much looking forward to more activities as this," said Property Manager of SPR Jonalyn Bendo.

The event was also participated by the scholars of Caritas Manila Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP), and members of the Commission on Service to Human Promotion.

Bata, TARA Na is one of DMCI Homes' corporate social responsibility campaigns under its Kaakbay program.
