Residents of Lumiere Residences observe health and safety protocols as they wait for their turn to register during the Commission on Elections (Comelec) satellite registration activity last July 24, 2021.

DMCI Homes’ Lumiere Residences community in Pasig City recently hosted the Commission on Elections (Comelec) satellite registration activity. This initiative made it convenient for residents to register and update their records for next year’s presidential elections amidst the ongoing pandemic.

Around 500 residents of the community turned up to register during the activity that was held at the function hall of Lumiere Residences’ West Tower last July 24, 2021.

Lumiere Residences Property Manager Ruby Policarpio said the activity was initiated by Lumiere Residences’ Community Development Council and Property Management Office (PMO) to help residents in the community register with the Comelec so they could exercise their right to vote in the 2022 elections.

“We wrote to the Comelec to request them to conduct a satellite registration here for the benefit of our residents and we are grateful that they granted our request,” Policarpio said.

Cara is thankful to her community for making the voter registration process convenient to residents.

Cara Ramirez, one of the volunteers of Lumiere Residences’ Health, Safety, and Security Club welcomed the initiative of their community to provide residents a convenient venue to register for the elections.

“It’s been raining heavily in the past few days so us doing this in our own condominium is something good, safe, convenient kasi bababa lang kami and it’s already here so we appreciate it very much,” Ramirez said.

“It’s a welcome support and a very good initiative to begin with. It’s really making it closer to home by allowing us to do this in our condominium community,” she added.
