Rosewood Pointe, a resort-like residential enclave situated in Acacia Estates, Taguig, is living up to its promise as a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city and as a showcase of modern urban lifestyle. Within the neo-Asian mid-rise and high-rise condominium complex built by DMCI Homes, families enjoy the comforts of fine homes, leisure in the swimming pool and other recreational facilities, and the beauty of well-manicured gardens and scenic Laguna Lake.
Homeowners like Jomar Hilario have other reasons to be satisfied. The 42-year-old father of three lives in a two-bedroom corner unit of Jade Tower, one of the two high-rise buildings of the gated village. The couple and their young children’s bedrooms give them privacy.
Jomar noted the wind that cools their home. “For the first two years of our stay here, we are like moving along the South Superhighway inside the house,” he said. “The wind enters the dining room window and exits through the bedroom window.”
Having windows in both sides of the unit are hallmarks of DMCI Homes architecture to allow cross ventilation and passive cooling thereby reducing reliance on air-conditioning and saving on electric consumption.
During the Hilarios’ early days in the enclave, the family spent much time inside their home. They later realized that outside is even better because of the first-class amenities.
The family, though, is actually getting more than the usual benefits. As an online marketer and virtual assistant teacher, Hilario works at home with a computer and the Internet. In contrast, neighbors travel to distant workplaces. This allows the entire family to have the swimming pool and playground almost for themselves.
“We’re always home when everybody’s out. When we swim, we are the only ones in the pool. When we play, we are the only ones in the playground.”
Rosewood Pointe has small and big function rooms for birthday parties, debut balls or baptismal and wedding receptions. When he needs to, Hilario rents the rooms for face-to-face meetings and training seminars for his clients who want to work from home like him.
Sometimes, he meets his trainees in the Garden Sky Lounge in the Ivory Tower. The rooftop restaurant has a lounge and balcony overlooking the Makati and Taguig skylines.
Jomar said his clients are always impressed with the elegant venues, amenities and ambience at Rosewood Pointe.
With his admiration to his DMCI Homes community, it was easy to understand why Jomar won the grand prize in the “Feel Good Moments Photo Contest.” The winning shot features his favorite amenity – the Sky Lounge. The photo gathered the most number of Facebook likes in the contest category.
In terms of location, Rosewood Pointe is appealing to Jomar’s wife. She can easily get household needs from nearby supermarkets. The C-5 Road also makes travel to the Makati CBD and the Bonifacio Global City fast for residents.
Jomar used to live in a rented one-bedroom apartment in Mandaluyong. When he got married in 2006 and his wife gave birth to their first child the following year, their home became too cramped. A brochure led him to the site, where five-story residential condominiums were already completed.
He was offered the remaining unsold units of the still unconstructed Jade tower and he accepted it.
The P3-million pre-sale price of his unit back in 2007 was reasonable since his other condominium options at the time were smaller in size and double the price.
Today, Hilario is happy to be getting more value for his property investment because he generates income from his home and the amenities support his online business.
