As people stay at home most of the time due to the community quarantine, many are craving the rejuvenating power of nature and the calming beauty of the outdoors to escape pandemic blues and anxiety.
With social distancing rules in place however, people especially condominium-dwellers in the metro, have to find ways to get that outdoor feel and connect with nature in the comfort of their home.
From turning into plantitos and plantitas, to maximizing the use of the balcony, city-dwellers have been creative in bringing nature indoors amid the health crisis.
Good thing for residents of DMCI Homes communities, nature is incorporated into the condominium design to create an ambiance that is good for residents’ health and well-being.
It is one feature that impressed new DMCI Homes unit owner Marito Ligon Jr. when he moved into his 1-bedroom unit at the North Tower of Sheridan Towers development in Mandaluyong City last month.
Unlike other developments, the 37-year-old Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) professional noted that DMCI Homes condominiums have landscaped atriums and Sky Patios that bring the warmth of the outdoors inside the structure.
“I’m particularly impressed with the atriums and the Sky patios kasi sa ibang developers dikit-dikit ang unit ng mga condo. Dito, wow, kapag lumabas ka ng unit mo parang nasa outdoor ka, ganu’n ‘yung feeling,” exclaimed Marito who works as a buyer planner for a BPO company in the Ortigas area.
“You have a great view of the outdoors and you get to enjoy the fresh air unlike what I’ve seen in other condominiums, which is paglabas mo, pinto ng kabilang unit ang bubungad sa ‘yo,” he continued.
By virtue of DMCI Homes’ design innovation called Lumiventt® Design Technology for high-rise developments, Sheridan Towers’ North and South Towers feature landscaped atriums, which are built in every seven floors to aid the flow of air and natural light inside the buildings as well as give occupants extra space to move around.
Derived from the words “lumen” meaning light and “ventus” meaning wind, the design technology takes advantage of natural light and cross ventilation by having three-story high openings called Sky Patios as entry points to make this possible.
“You have these extra spaces and you also have a spacious balcony which is another area where you can have a good view of the outdoors,” Marito pointed out.
As a first-time condo-dweller, these healthy building features, big open spaces, and a wide array of resort-inspired amenities make Marito all the more excited about starting a new life at Sheridan Towers.
“I’m impressed with the amenities. I like the pool and the fitness gym especially,” he shared.
Aside from a pool complex which includes 2 lap pools, 2 kiddie pools, and a leisure pool, Sheridan Towers also has an audio-visual room and game area where residents can watch movies, sing karaoke, or play board games.
The property’s amenity area, which makes up approximately 60 percent of the 11,155 square meters (sq. m) land area, was devoted to resort-inspired amenities and outdoor spaces to give residents a place to connect with nature and enjoy a vacation lifestyle in the city.
The modern tropical-themed development also adequately provided lush gardens, a basketball court, a playcourt and a children's play area for the enjoyment of residents.
Moreover, Sheridan Towers is complete with facilities like water station, laundry station, and convenience store for easy access to everyday necessities.
“Everything is great. We have everything here so I’m really happy with my purchase,” Marito beamed.
Sheridan Towers is one of the developments of DMCI Homes, the country’s first Quadruple A real estate developer known for building quality resort-inspired communities in Mega Manila, Baguio, Boracay and Davao City. Each of its properties is built with world-standard craftsmanship borne from D.M. Consunji Inc.'s over 60 years of expertise in the construction and development industry.
