Marathoner cherishes good side of spending time at home during Enhanced Community Quarantine

One Castilla Place | April 1, 2020

Working from home means more time spent with our loved ones, Joash says.

Used to running around the streets of San Juan and Quezon City, amateur marathoner Joash Paunil cannot help but feel frustrated for not being able to do his passion amid the government's implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

"Not being allowed to run outside can be so frustrating," the resident of DMCI Homes' One Castilla Place condominium community in Barangay Valencia, Quezon City wrote in an Instagram post.

"It's not really easy for us marathoners to stay indoors, 'stuck' in the four corners of our homes and not be able to do field work we love to do, meeting people face to face, and living a kind of life that's on the go out there," continued Joash, who vlogs about his running adventures on his Youtube channel "Joash Paunil."

Nonetheless, he also recognized the good side of the situation which is having more time to spend with his wife and two kids at their two-bedroom unit in DMCI Homes' resort-inspired community.

It also means more meaningful moments with his wife.

"But when we stop and consider the good side of it, we begin to be grateful," he pointed out.

"Being home to celebrate with your two-year-old who suddenly graduates from his diapers (hooray!!!), being there when your 4-year old daughter shows you her first ever multi-colored painting, being there with your spouse and share those quality kilig moments with her as you go on for some 'Netflix date' time together are all priceless!" he shared.

In this difficult time, there are still a lot to be thankful for according to Joash.

"We can be grateful that we can stay at home at this time and still do meaningful work coordinating and creating something valuable for our community and the world, even online," Joash said.

And more importantly, having time to witness his kids' "milestones" like finishing a multi-colored painting.

"Let's keep on "running" faithfully, the race marked out for us in this life, whatever it takes. Let us continually be praying for the frontliners out there," he encouraged his followers.

After all," this COVID-19 too shall pass," Joash ended his post.
