Anissa Heights, DMCI Homes' new residential condominium development in P. Zamora...

While the coronavirus pandemic has dramatically altered the way we live, many will also agree that it has given us the needed time for important realizations.
It has reminded us, for one, not to take life’s simple pleasures for granted and to make the most of the present moment.
As a person who is accustomed to a busy city life, Rem said the pandemic has taught him to take a pause and appreciate the value of simple pleasures like getting a haircut, celebrating special occasions with loved ones, and cuddling with his pet dogs.
“I had my haircut done by my mother. We celebrated birthdays, Mother’s Day, and we also joined DMCI Homes’ card-making activity for frontliners,” Rem said when asked about the highlights of his over two-month quarantine.
“They may just be simple activities, but they have become more meaningful for me now,” he added.
New normal lifestyle
Rem, who works as an IT Scrum Master in one of the biggest consumer finance company in the Philippines, said he also appreciates working for a company that supports flexible work arrangement like working from home.
“This pandemic changed not just my lifestyle, but the lifestyle of every member of our family in general. As we try to live with this new normal, we are more cautious now when going out to buy essentials and when interacting with other people outdoors,” shared Rem.
“As much as possible, we really want to stay at home as much as we can to keep ourselves safe from the virus. On weekends, we normally spend it to de-stress our minds and body by eating delicious food either delivered thru online deliveries or cooking in our own kitchen,” he related.
Rem said he is also thankful to live in a community that makes it convenient to adapt to the new normal way of life because of the pandemic.
“Convenience, security and cleanliness are three things we love about living in Maple Place. We really love that the community is located where residents have easy access to supermarkets to buy essentials such as food, toiletries and medicines,” Rem said.
He also appreciates the Property Management Office’s (PMO) effort to keep Maple Place’s residents safe amid the pandemic.
“How the PMO communicates and provides updates to the community during the quarantine has been very helpful. It might look overkill at first but we admire how PMO uses all possible communication channels to disseminate useful information and guaranteeing our community’s safety,” he said.
More importantly, Rem is grateful to live in a community with dedicated frontliners.
“We love that we have a community with hardworking and dedicated frontliners—security guards and housekeeping staff—who stayed in during the pandemic to keep our community safe and clean all the time - our highest appreciation and respect to all of them!” he exclaimed.
