Condo spaces are usually really tight, but here at The Redwoods, I don't feel that at all.

Mirea Residences | November 29, 2011

Architect Che Alfaro, like many other long-time residents of Fairview, is upgrading to a new lifestyle that promises convenience, urban comforts, security, exceptional value and services, in a community that exudes the feeling of being closer to home.

Coming from the surrounding areas of Fairview and Novaliches, first-time homeowners like Alfaro found it most ideal to settle within an area that is all too familiar and close to her previous residence.  She is currently one of the proud and satisfied homeowners of The Redwoods by DMCI Homes, an emerging community within a 2-hectare prime lot at the intersection of Quirino Highway and Regalado Avenue in Fairview, Quezon City.

“I have been looking for a place for more than two years now, and my number one requirement was a condo unit to suit my lifestyle, instead of a house and lot that would require high maintenance,” Alfaro related.  “So one day, while I was at SM Fairview and passed by the DMCI Homes booth, an agent convinced me to take a look at The Redwoods.  I was surprised because after exiting the mall, we just crossed the street and reached the project site, so I knew that the development would be in a very strategic location.”

As a resident of Novaliches since 1980, Alfaro has grown accustomed to her district, so that even if her office is in Ortigas, she wanted her first home to be in a different environment, and located near her mother’s house where she and her two other siblings grew up.  She was also convinced by her older brother who is based in Australia with his family, to look for a condo unit instead because of its upscale image.

“My brother, who is also an Engineer abroad, helped me acquire this condo, because whenever his family comes home to the Philippines, they want to stay in a place like The Redwoods, which is urban but provides a relaxing ambience,” she explained.

Despite of being a licensed architect, Che’s work is engineering in nature. This made her more convinced about the DMCI brand, whose legacy in the construction business is peerless.  “We haven’t heard anything bad about DMCI when it comes to construction, so even if we got this unit during the pre-selling stage, we were confident that the project would be completed on time, with quality craftsmanship to boot.”

Alfaro also revealed that she was very much impressed by the variety of amenities offered by The Redwoods, instead of the typical basketball court and swimming pool offered by other developments.  What clinched the deal for her however, was the indoor badminton court, since Alfaro is a fan of the sport.  She plays as often as she can, an activity that also allows her to mingle with her neighbors who are mostly young, single, mobile professionals, and start-up families with very young children.

To preserve this prestige, The Redwoods maintains a medium-density living with only five mid-rise buildings.  “As of now, our community is still young, so I appreciate the calmness of the entire place especially when I get home from work and I want to rest and relax.  But during weekends, I get to invite my mother and sister, and even my friends so we can just hang out here and catch up,” she said.

This is why her spacious and stylish 3-bedroom, 84-sqm unit is perfect for gathering family and friends.  As a corner unit, the condo also has at least three sides with windows and openings, allowing air to circulate and light to permeate well around her home.  This provision also holds true when she steps outside her unit, with the building design taking advantage of air and light to flow freely around the structure.  All five buildings even have a scenic elevator that showcases the elegance and innovation offered by DMCI Homes in its portfolio of successful projects all over the metro.

“Condo spaces are usually really tight, but here at The Redwoods, I don’t feel that at all.  It helps that it’s a medium-rise so there are only five floors, but being in the engineering and architecture industry, who has seen a lot of developments, I can say that the unit spaces here are really bigger than those found in other projects.  Aside from that, we even have our own greens inside the building, the landscaped central atrium which adds to the proper circulation of air.  This makes for a really healthy living environment,” Alfaro added.

Adding to the provision for well-being is the aesthetics of the development, courtesy of the neo-Asian motif that adds character and style to the entire structure.  “It’s really appealing for me, including the earth colors used throughout the building.  Even inside my unit, I did not have to install upgrades because of the first-rate quality fixtures and embellishments that were delivered upon turnover,” she noted.

Since she moved in last May, which was two months ahead of the original ready-for-occupancy status, Alfaro has been enjoying her condo home.  One of the perks she pointed out is not having to worry about cleaning her corridor or a garden, since the Property Management Office handles that for the residents.  She also values the security offered by the development, as well as the affordability units at The Redwoods.

She added: “I was informed by my agent recently that my unit, which I started paying for two years ago, has since doubled its property value.  And it’s bound to go up further in the not so distant future with another giant mall coming up, plus the opening of the MRT.  I’ve witnessed the way Fairview has progressed through the years, and I’m glad that I’ll be right in the middle of all this excitement, right within my neighborhood at The Redwoods.”

DMCI Homes is the country’s premier triple A builder-developer that brings serviced, themed communities within reach of urban families who once had limited residential options, but still aspire to achieve a comfortable, enriching quality of life proximate to their place of work.  For inquiries on DMCI Homes projects, please call (02) 324-8888 or visit the website: https://www.dmcihomes.com.
