Acacia Estates, DMCI
Homes’ first township development in the metro, recently celebrated its second
community fiesta with a weekend of fun and revelry at The Tent in Acacia Town
Center, Taguig City.
With the theme of
“Acacia Fiesta Carnival,” young and old residents alike, enjoyed two days full
of enjoyable activities lined up by DMCI Homes and Globe At Home that include
a free
Zumba session, dance exhibitions, film screenings, and dog fashion show.
For this year, The Tent
was dressed up like an amusement park while resident concessionaires
transformed it to a huge bazaar selling a variety of affordable products and
apparels.
“We want to give Acacia
Estates residents something to look forward to every year and get a feel of a
traditional fiesta even if they live in a modern community. An event where
residents can come together as one community which is the real essence of a fiesta
celebration,” said DMCI Homes Property Management Corporation (DPMC) Senior
Vice President Enrico C. Wong.
Inter-community
competitions like “Acacia Idol” and “Little Miss Acacia,” meanwhile, brought
out the competitive spirit of residents of the 150-hectare township development.
Belting out Beyonce’s
“Listen” in the final round, Janine Ilagan of The Birchwood, bested 11 other
equally talented contestants to bring home a cash prize and the distinction of
being the first ever winner of the “Acacia Idol” singing competition.
“Nakaka-overwhelm po
kasi marami rin pong magagaling na contestant at nakakakaba po kasi iba-iba po
yung genre tapos mayroon pang may range na mas mataas. Hindi po ako
makapaniwala na ako yung nanalo,” shared the 17-year-old daughter of an
Overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia.
Mikeila Milan Carreon,
also a resident of The Birchwood, on the other hand, was crowned winner of this
year’s Little Miss Acacia competition.
Residents finished off the festivities with a game of bingo where they
had a chance of winning smart television sets and gadgets.
“It’s a very nice activity
and it’s a great venue to get to know our fellow residents here in the Acacia
Estates community,” said Trish Arcenas, whose adorable pet won first place in
the dog fashion show competition.
