Moncello Crest, DMCI Homes Leisure Residences’ eco-agricultural resort condotel in Tuba, Benguet, exemplifies these principles. 

  

In 2025, it received a GantimPALA Merit Award from the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects, standing out as the only winner in the Developer Awards Category among 19 entries. The project was cited for its integration of heritage, sustainability, and community-centered planning. 

  

The award forms part of the GantimPALA Awards, which recognize landscape architecture projects in the Philippines for design excellence, innovation, environmental sensitivity, and professional distinction.

Inspired by Agricultural Heritage 

  

Designed by DMCI Homes’ award-winning in-house Concepts and Landscape Management Department, Moncello Crest is an eco-agricultural mountain resort in Benguet that redefines the highland experience through a dialogue of nature, community, and design. 

  

Rooted in ecological responsiveness, experiential design, and community well-being, the development brings the old Baguio charm—a cool, pine-laden landscape, terraced gardens, and intimate communal spaces—while embracing the land’s natural topography, integrating sustainable architecture, and celebrating cultural identity. 

  

DMCI Homes aims to support the surrounding farming community by sourcing produce, crafts, and services locally. Just as importantly, the development hopes to highlight local traditions, food, and crafts to uplift Tuba’s tourism and identity. 

  

Envisioned as a highland destination, Moncello Crest offers a sweeping boardwalk with outlook nooks, an adjoining adventure trail of ziplines, ropes, nets, and bridges. Circulation weaves and unfolds as a journey of discovery. 

  

Environmental and Experiential Design 

  

Moncello Crest is not built on the land. It is built with it.

Designed with sustainability at its heart, only a quarter of its four-hectare land area will ever bear structures. 

  

The rest is left untouched, allowing the mountains, sky, and land to define the setting. The architecture complements the natural contours of Tuba, blending seamlessly with its skyline. 

  

A Sanctuary for Rest and Connection 

  

As an eco-agri condotel, Moncello Crest is designed around simple comforts and shared experiences. 

  

A café offers a relaxing spot where guests can enjoy coffee while savoring mountain views. Beautiful gardens bring color and calm, while fire pits provide a cozy space to spend evenings with family or friends. 

  

Wellness amenities such as a spa and jacuzzi encourage relaxation, and open parks, a children’s play area, and lounges create spaces where people can gather and feel at home.
