2022 Partners Forum and Fellowship: Chairman Consunji Reaffirms Commitment To Business Sustainability

June 8, 2022

DMCI Holdings, Inc. Chairman Isidro A. Consunji has reaffirmed DMCI Homes’ commitment to business sustainability during this year’s Partners Forum and Fellowship held at The Marella Deck in Oak Harbor Residences, Parañaque City.

The event, which was the first in-person gathering among DMCI Homes officers and partner subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers in three years, was also attended by President Alfredo R. Austria, various Department Heads and senior architects and engineers.

As he attributed DMCI Homes’ success to its “very good working relationship” with its business partners, Chairman Consunji assured the attendees of the company’s intention to offer more best value products through continuous innovation.

“Going forward, we’d like to work with people we’d work before. We’d like to work with people who are prepared to invest in the future by investing money, investing  in new techniques, and new technology. And the only way that they will be encouraged to do that is a promise of business sustainability,” Chairman Consunji said in his closing remarks.

“And it is our intent to keep that promise of business sustainability.  Our intention is to create products on a sustained basis that are best in class, have the best features, and best value for money. We will develop projects that are suitable for modern urban living,” he continued.

DMCI Homes executives, Vice President for Marketing Jan O. Venturanza, Vice President for Project Development Dennis O. Yap, Vice President for Purchasing and Asset Management Art Zamora, and Senior Vice President for Design, Engineering, and Construction Adrian M. Calimbas, on the other hand, took turns in updating the attendees on company accomplishments and initiatives, project updates, and the plans and programs of their respective departments to strengthen the coordination and working relationship with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.

Valued partners

Meanwhile, partner subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers thanked DMCI Homes for building a fruitful partnership over the years.

Architect Rizalyn Tayag, CEO and President of Chapman Builders Corporation (formerly M. Tayag Builders) said DMCI Homes “does not treat subcontractors as just subcontractors, but valued partners as well.”

“From the very start, DMCI Homes supported us when we introduced M. Tayag Builders. It opened doors for us to be recognized in the construction industry,” Architect Tayag said.

Mutually beneficial relationship

Mr. Ruben Cueto, Vice President for Marketing of Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines, Inc. said DMCI Homes brings out the best in its partner firms.

“It’s been a very good partnership. It always keeps us on our toes. They bring out the best in us. DMCI Homes always expects better service and better quality from their suppliers,” said Mr. Cueto whose company has been in partnership with DMCI Homes when the latter started operations in 1999.

“DMCI Homes always maintains mutually beneficial relationship with their partners. And their commitment to quality, their commitment to customer focus and excellence are aligned with our corporate culture as well,” he added.

Big difference

For Dr. Salvador F. Reyes, DMCI Homes’ Consultant in Geotechnical Engineering, DMCI Homes’ excellent working relationship with its partner firms is due to its nature as a construction company that is run by civil engineers.

“The good thing about DMCI Homes is its top management is run by civil engineers. And that makes the big difference in the relations of the company and the outfit that is rendering service or supplying,” Mr. Reyes said.

“They understand the nature of the service that is being rendered by the consultant. They know what’s the problem. What is the value of the service that you are providing, that’s the key. I think that makes the difference,” he stressed.
