Take it from Mags Paguyo, a unit-owner at DMCI Homes’ One Castilla Place condominium community in Quezon City: Nothing beats living in a community where there is a feeling of belongingness for all family members including fur babies.
After all, Mags and her husband, Dart, had long dreamed of living in a place where pets are treated as members of the community.
As dog-lovers, Mags and her husband Dart’s first requirement when they were still looking for their own place was for the real estate property to be pet-friendly.
The couple did their research and found that One Castilla Place, a high-rise condominium project that is near their location in San Juan, allows pet ownership. They were ecstatic because they have two dogs, Corbin and Jiggy, whom they couldn’t leave behind.
Three years after moving into their two-bedroom unit in 2016, Mags still considers that day as a “happy memory and unforgettable experience.”
“It was a feeling of great satisfaction,” she said, recalling the time they got the keys to their unit from the Property Management Office (PMO) and opening its front door. “We were proud that we were able to buy a nice place. It’s our first home.”
Up to this day, Mags can’t forget being impressed with the general layout of the place, of which she shared her commendation that DMCI Homes build projects “not just for business but more importantly, provide and address their clients’ welfare.”
“We’re very happy because in our old apartment, there was no air circulation,” she reminisced while sitting comfortably in her living room. “It's the opposite of what we have now. The first time my husband stepped in the unit, he was very relieved and very satisfied.”
Mags likewise acknowledges the convenience One Castilla Place offers in terms of location. Since the condominium is near her and her husband’s respective offices, they get to spend more time with their son, Ocean, as they are able to get home easily and not get stuck in traffic gridlocks in the metro.
The working mom, who organizes bazaars through Urbanflair Manila, is similarly appreciative of the convenience provided by the “professionally managed” maintenance services in the building. If ever she finds that there’s something remiss, she calls the attention of PMO and “feedback is relatively fast.”
She also notes that “DMCI is very generous with the common spaces” and credits the company’s “very good background in terms of construction.”
Mags has made friends in the high-rise community, which she describes as “a fun group.” She exclaimed, “We have very warm neighbors. [They are] very friendly and also very cooperative.”
“Because we have activities every so often,” she added, “you can see people making an effort organizing and participating to have this sense of neighborly community. This is really a kind of place that you would want to live in.”
Mags herself is an active participant and contributor in the condominium community. She has joined several different organizations, one of which is the Christmas decors committee, which won awards from DMCI Homes. “From this committee, we’ve met really good friends, good neighbors,” she said with a satisfied smile. “I think that’s how you build a good relationship within the place you love. You try to get involved and you try to help out.”
True to their pet-loving nature, Mags and her husband have thought out ways to show their care and affection for the furry kind in their community. Her husband even spearheaded a dog-training seminar where he acted as facilitator and speaker.
“We also had a dog fashion show here and our dog participated in it and won the talent portion,” Mags shared.
Having experienced what she envisioned as an ideal home for her family and fur babies at One Castilla Place, Mags gladly recommends it—or any other DMCI Homes project for that matter—to prospective homeowners.
As for tips in finding the right condominium investment, she suggests considering, first, the desired location and, second, the allotted budget. In closing, she said, “You really have to do your homework—who the developer is, what they’ve done, and the communities they have created because you’ll be living in that place and you’ll be spending your hard-earned cash. So it’s something that you really, really have to be sure of.”
