Underprivileged children of Barangay Malibay, Pasay City enjoyed a day of fun and games recently during a program organized by employees of DMCI Homes’ Design and Engineering Department.
The activity spearheaded by staff of MEPF; Research and Development; and Structural units of the department was conducted in line with their goal to make a difference in the society by helping children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.
Thirty-five beneficiaries of the project from the Barangay Malibay, Pasay-based Special Children Support Group of the Dominican Sisters. They were treated to face-painting, parlor games, interactive activities, snacks and lunch during the activity held at the DMCI Homes Corporate Center multi-purpose court last October 19, 2019.
“We organized this activity called D&E CARES as our contribution to DMCI Homes’ Kaakbay CSR initiative of reaching out to the less fortunate residents of communities around the company’s head office in Makati City,” explained one of the proponents, Engr. Mark Zian Garlan.
Launched in 2013, the Kaakbay program streamlines CSR activities and keeps sharp focus on social development areas relevant to DMCI Homes’ line of business.
As a clear and distinctive brand, it also helps strengthen internal engagement and employee volunteerism within the company.
“This is just our initial activity. Apart from outreach activities, we are also planning of initiating programs for the benefit of animals and the environment,” Garlan added.
