DMCI Homes Condo Resident Advantage: Easy Commuting with RideShare
Launched in November 2022 in Acacia Estates, Taguig City, the service has since expanded to other developments, including Brixton Place, Fairlane Residences, Lumiere Residences, Prisma Residences, Sheridan Towers, Allegra Garden Place, Kai Garden Residences, and Dansalan Gardens Condominiums, with more communities soon joining the network.
In Metro Manila, commuting can often be a daily challenge. Long walks to train stations, crowded platforms, and the difficulty of finding a ride during peak hours are part of everyday life for many residents.
At DMCI Homes condos like Kai Garden Residences in Mandaluyong City, however, an app-based ridesharing program is quietly changing how residents navigate the city.
DMCI Homes’ award-winning RideShare program provides a shared-ride service that picks up and drops off commuters within the community.
For resident Chris Chan, it has quickly become a practical part of his commute to work in Makati.
“I learned about it when I saw the tarpaulin in the lobby and saw the DMCI Homes Facebook page announce that RideShare was being launched in Kai Garden Residences,” he recalls.
An exclusive service for DMCI Homes condominium residents accessible via the DMCI Communities mobile app, RideShare is one of the first and only multi-point carpooling mobile app-based shuttle services in the Philippines.
Having seen the program in other DMCI communities, Chris had been hoping it would reach his own. “As someone without a car, I’ve been looking forward to RideShare becoming available in Kai Garden Residences after seeing it in other DMCI properties. I decided to try it since it would make my travel to work very convenient.”
He now uses RideShare “2-3 day a week back and forth,” and says it has made commuting noticeably easier.
‘It’s more convenient than taking the MRT’
Before RideShare, Chris’ commute involved long walks to the MRT, crowded trains, and additional walking to his office—a routine familiar to many city dwellers.
RideShare, he says, has softened that routine. “It’s more convenient than taking the MRT,” he shares. “It spares me from walking to the station and an even longer walk from the station to the office. It’s also cheaper than if I were to take a TNVS. It’s also more comfortable than if I were to take a motorcycle ride-hailing service.”
The benefits become even more noticeable during bad weather. “When it’s raining, I prefer to take RideShare since it’s convenient and comfortable. Even if it’s rush hour, I’m assured that I have a ride. I end up saving money compared to booking my own car.”
RideShare started serving the residents of Kai Garden Residences in October last year.
“It’s really more about the convenience, cost, and reliability,” he adds.
Familiar Faces, Safer Rides
Beyond practical benefits, RideShare also offers a sense of familiarity.
“You feel a bit safer knowing everyone in the van is a neighbor,” he says. Pickup points within the property also help ensure timely departures. “The van is usually able to leave on time since it’s convenient for everyone to get to.”
Chris has also met neighbors through the program, sometimes even connecting through the RideShare group chat. “Yes. I’ve met some new neighbors through RideShare. Sometimes not even in the van itself but in the RideShare group chat.”
Shared responsibility and consideration among riders have also added to the sense of community. “Everyone tries to be conscious to be on time and to adjust to what will benefit the majority like the stops and the schedules.”

Eco-Friendly and Practical Choice
Chris is also happy that RideShare is eco-friendly.
“RideShare is an eco-friendly option since it moves a lot of people with every trip reducing the number of individual cars on the road.”
By consolidating trips for residents living in the same area, the program reduces the number of vehicles on the road, while offering a comfortable, convenient alternative to traditional commuting.
For Chris, RideShare is a practical, convenient addition to condo living at Kai Garden Residences.
“It adds a lot of value by making daily commute easier and more comfortable… something unique to DMCI (Homes) that I think other condos or developers should adopt.”
He hopes more residents will try the service. “Give it a try! I’m sure you’ll end up using it more than once when you see how convenient and comfortable it is,” he beams.
