"Celebrity Club is one of the more vibrant exclusive membership clubs in this eastern part of Quezon City," says Celebrity Club general manager, Antonio B. Reyes. A casual tour of the premises is all it takes for one to be convinced that this is not an empty boast. The club's gym boasts of state-of-the art fitness equipment. "We have acquired two new treadmill and cross trainer machines as part of our ongoing rehabilitation," Reyes says. "Our professional-level gym is the most frequented among the club facilities. The swimmers as well as the badminton and tennis players have their physical conditioning at the gym. We have our own gym instructor and his assistants who are available anytime to guide our members."
"We have just rehabilitated our badminton courts," Reyes says. "We added wood on top of the concrete floor and underneath the rubberized surface, to provide bounce and prevent injuries." From the original three badminton courts, there are now four. There are also four indoor tennis courts. "We have upgraded the lighting so we can meet the high standard for lighting in the tennis courts," Reyes says. The Celebrity team members also join tournaments where they have shown their strong potential. There is also a 16-lane bowling center and a good-sized basketball covered court for league tournaments. "We even have a gallery for spectators," Reyes points out. "We are also working to revive the wall climbing facility." There is an archery and a fencing hall as well as space for karate and kickboxing. "The latest addition to the gym is the new boxing ring where we also have a trainer," Reyes says.
One more new addition to the club's facilities is the grand ballroom which can accommodate as many as 1,000 guests. It is an ideal venue for weddings and debuts. There are three club-produced shows within the year-the Halloween party in October for the younger members of the family; the Christmas party in December, which features a raffle for the whole family; and the Valentine's show in February for the "not so young couples," Reyes says. This year, the show on February 16 will feature Nonoy Zuniga with Arnee Hidalgo as front act. There is also a karaoke bar with its own sing-along master. There are two restaurants-the Sitio Victoria for fine dining, and the Cafea coffee shop, which extends to the lanai area overlooking the swimming pool. There is also a fresh fruit juice stand at the lobby for healthy, ice cold fresh fruit juices.
The original Olympic-sized swimming pool continues to be the centerpiece of the Celebrity Club. And next to it are the kiddies' pool and the splash pool with its giant water slides. You do not have to wait for summer to enjoy these amenities. A proprietary membership entitles you to all these facilities.
