Finding the perfect place to raise a family is every parent’s dream.
Almira Lim and her husband, who both work in Makati City, are no exception. Back in 2012, when their first son was four years old, they took the first step in making their dream come true. They set out in search of the right property, starting with the Acacia Estates township project of DMCI Homes in Taguig City.
“It’s a major investment, so we wanted to do our research,” she explained. “We found out that DMCI Homes is a reputable property developer, so that’s a big check for us.”
Their research proved to be accurate and reliable, as they loved what they saw and thus told themselves: “This is really for us.”
Lim can’t forget how they felt that moment. “We really, really liked it,” she said. “We especially liked the environment. We couldn’t believe that there’s a property that is livable like that.”
After their site viewing, they decided to purchase a unit in one of the Acacia Estates projects—Cedar Crest—a four-hectare complex of mid-rise Neo-Asian Minimalist condominiums, which was then under construction.
Seven years later, Lim remains in awe of how things turned out. “It’s really exciting to look back,” she enthused. “We’re like making a fresh, new beginning for our family, and it was really, really great. We’re happy that the turnover team really did a good job organizing everything and touring us around.”
Indeed, such good memories are worth reliving. “It was really exciting,” she added, turning nostalgic. “And I can still remember to this day how thrilled we were moving in. We were really excited as a family.”
Lim recalled that three factors led them to settling down in Cedar Crest: location, security, and amenities.
She explained that Cedar Crest’s accessibility enables her and her husband to travel to and from work with great ease. Its security system, on the other hand, puts them at ease whenever they think of the safety of their children. It also offers amenities that truly satisfy and delight the homeowners and their guests.
“Before we purchased a property here in Cedar Crest,” the 34-year-old working mom said, “we really wanted to live where we can have a vacation away from the city’s hustle and bustle. And we found it here. We really like the resort-type vibe.”
Choosing Cedar Crest, which is comprised of 10 condo buildings, also debunked their belief that vertical living isn’t suitable for families.
“We did have a perception that if you live in a condo, you will be like living in a box,” she admitted. “However, that’s also our turning point in purchasing this property because it’s not that at all. It turned out to be the opposite of our notion.”
“You can get to actually relax in a condo with a resort-type setup,” she pointed out. “We’re really happy that we get to actually feel the breeze, which is something that we don’t get to have much if you reside in other parts of the city.”
Lim noted that living in Cedar Crest is most beneficial to their children. It’s accessible to learning institutions as there are several schools nearby. It’s also conducive to getting into sports like swimming and basketball, as well as building friendships with other children in the neighborhood.
“There is the community yet you can enjoy your own privacy. We also like that there is support from the Property Management Office (PMO). We like their ideas of having that familial feel. We like that they organize events for the community. It’s nice because the kids can look back to happy childhood memories,” shared Lim.
“I have an aunt who actually lives not far away from here,” Lim added. “She actually likes the vibe here. They live in a gated community, but they don’t have this kind of setup, where the kids can freely roam the basketball area. It’s safe here. You’re at peace that your kids can socialize because security is round the clock,” she continued.
In conclusion, Lim happily reported that acquiring their Cedar Crest property has been a sound investment.
“I’m very proud and very happy,” she said, beaming. “It’s more than the value that we got it for and more than the quality that we paid for. I don’t think we can get this kind of community anywhere else. I don’t think that there’s a community that is comparable to us. I don’t think that there is a Cedar Crest or Acacia Estates vibe that you can get anywhere else.”
