A Piece of Manila’s Past Lives On in Acacia Estates, Taguig
Casa Real grand staircase entrance along Acacia Lane
Amid the modern comforts of Acacia Estates in Taguig City stands a piece of Manila’s past, Casa Real, a rare treasure that celebrates both heritage and craftsmanship.
Carefully preserved and restored, this events venue bridges the elegance of the past with the vibrancy of contemporary community living.
Few may know that Casa Real’s story began more than a century ago on Sociego Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
The old Tuason Residence
The structure was once the Tuason Residence, an Art Deco home built in 1915 that reflected the architectural style popular in the early 20th century.
When DMCI Homes acquired the property from the Tuason family in 2011 to develop Sorrel Residences, the company recognized the home’s historical and cultural value.
Instead of demolishing the structure, DMCI Homes transported it piece by piece from Manila to Taguig and rebuilt it as a Colonial-era events place that would complement the atmosphere of Acacia Estates.
Casa Real Solariega Hall
Eighty percent of Casa Real’s materials came from the original Tuason Residence.
Narra and ipil floorboards, capiz windows, wooden wall calados, narra doors, and decorative iron grilles were all upcycled.
Distinct wall moldings and wood brackets were carefully replicated to maintain authenticity, while the iconic lion’s head gargoyle drains and original concrete balusters were restored to their former glory.
Casa Real Cuadrilla Hall
Today, Casa Real stands as the cultural heart of Acacia Estates, a gathering place where tradition meets modern living.
Surrounded by themed condominiums and landscaped open spaces, it offers residents and visitors an elegant setting for weddings, milestones, and celebrations that create lasting memories.
