Living in DMCI Homes’ Siena Park Residences community in Parañaque City for the past eight years has created many beautiful memories for pioneer resident Jack Aguilar and his family.
Like everyone else, however, Jack’s favorite memories happened during Christmas time for one good reason: they remind him that he and his family belong to a beautiful community.
“We always have this big activity of decorating the whole community and you see a lot of people outside. And they're actually enjoying it as well,” he shared.
Jack, who is an engineer by profession, was referring to DMCI Homes yearly inter-community décor competition where condo communities compete in sprucing up the property for the Christmas Season.
“I think that was three or four years ago when I said that this is really a good community to be in and I would like to be part of these traditions and the distinctive culture that we are forming within our community,” he said.
“At one time, I was able to join the awarding ceremony at the DMCI Homes office where Siena Park won the best Christmas decoration. So, we were very happy and we went back here and I think everybody in the community celebrated with us as well,” he recalled smiling.
It may just be a décor competition but for Jack, it showed his fellow residents’ shared commitment to come together for the good of their fellow residents and the whole community.
“There are always a lot of people willing to help especially during the pandemic. People help each other like they’re real magkakapitbahay talaga,” Jack shared.
“That’s something you won’t probably notice living in another condominium because when I’ve lived in a condominium in other parts of the Philippines and other parts of the world in the past, you’re only by yourself, that’s how you feel. But here in Siena Park, you feel that you’re part of a bigger community,” he added.
Close-knit community
Treating each other like their own family members, residents of Siena Park Residences through the years have enjoyed joining numerous community development activities organized by the Property Management Office and the Community Development Council especially before the coronavirus pandemic.
From simple get-togethers at the Clubhouse; traditional fiesta during summer; Santacruzan during May; trick or treat during Halloween; colorful Christmas and year-end parties; outreach programs for numerous beneficiaries; to simple bazaars and community fairs, these activities have certainly helped residents shape the property into a close-knit community through the years.
All of these make Jack grateful to have invested in a condo that proved to be an ideal home for his family.
“When we moved in here, the property wasn’t fully finished yet. I think, there were only three buildings during that time but we immediately noticed how beautiful the property is,” said Jack who moved into the property in April 2013, just six months after the mid-rise condominium’s first building welcomed its first batch of residents in October 2012.
“I can compare it to a resort hotel or a summer resort which is what my family loves going to. We love to go to the beaches every summer or when we have some celebrations so that’s something that we immediately noticed,” he fondly recalled.
Jack’s daughter, Julienne, who was only nine at that time, was smitten with the property, which made him and his wife, Dory, decide to move into the Siena Park Residences community.
“My daughter loved it so in a matter of two months, we decided to move in. She actually turned 18 a couple of months ago and so all the memories of her childhood and teenage years were spent here in Siena,” he related.
Looking back at all the wonderful memories they have created in Siena Park Residences, Jack is happy that he and his wife made the right decision to move into the community instead of pushing ahead with their initial plan to have their unit rented out.
“I think it's a good decision or probably one of the best decisions that my wife and I made. We have so many beautiful memories here and we also never had problems on security and on the property as well,” Jack said.
“I say my satisfaction level of living here is really, really high. I don't see myself yet or I don't have any plans to live outside Siena Park for the foreseeable time,” he enthused.
