For their annual Christmas outreach activity, residents and property managers of DMCI Homes’ condominium communities in Northern Metro Manila this year went to Barangay Bungad in Quezon City to reach out to solo parents living in the community.
With the theme “Bridging Hopes for Solo Parents,” this year's outreach project, which was done in partnership with the Quezon City local government, donated food packs and sacks of rice to 50 solo parent beneficiaries.
Aside from distributing food packs and sacks of rice, residents from Zinnia Towers community also gave an online special learning workshop on how to make disinfectant sprays, inhalers, and foaming hand soaps which the solo parent beneficiaries could pursue as an income-generating project.
"I had a great time sharing with the solo parents. We are also grateful to the Property Management Office for accommodating our small token for them," Jean Mallillin, a resident volunteer shared.
"I'm happy to be part of this activity. Thank you for organizing activities like these for residents," Lerrylyn Quintin, another resident volunteer added.
Barangay Bungad Chairwoman Sherilyn Corpuz, who graced the event, meanwhile, thanked DMCI Homes North Metro communities for recognizing and honoring the sacrifices of solo parents in her community through their “One Hope” outreach program.
“Thank you very much DMCI Homes for your support to Barangay Bungad, especially to our solo parents,” Corpuz said.
The Amaryllis gift-giving activity
Meanwhile, residents and property managers of The Amaryllis in Quezon City held a gift-giving activity for kids living in their host community, Barangay Mariana.
The activity, which was held at the Barangay Mariana Hall last December 20, was jointly organized by the Property Management Office and the Community Development Council to bring smiles to kids.
