Condo residents help roll out vaccination drives in DMCI Homes’ QC communities

DMCI Homes condominium communities in Quezon City recently started rolling out vaccination drives for residents and community service personnel classified under the A1 to A4 categories in partnership with the Quezon City local government.

Among these communities which held vaccination drives for residents are One Castilla Place held last June 16 and Viera Residences and Zinnia Towers last June 26.

Helping facilitate the community vaccination program are medical and non-medical resident volunteers, Property Management Office (PMO) personnel, and barangay workers.

Non-medical resident volunteers assisted in ensuring an orderly vaccination process while resident doctors and nurses helped in the assessment and screening of the vaccinees.

Vaccination volunteers have their group photo taken Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte together with the PMO staff of Zinnia Towers during the community vaccination event last June 26, 2021.

“I was happy to be able to take part and provide service to my fellow residents, hearing their stories and to finally put a face to some of the familiar names,” said Dr. Joy Guerrero, one of Zinnia Towers resident volunteers.

Dr. Guerrero said she is grateful that the PMO held the vaccination activity right inside the condominium property.

“First, it really showed their concern for their residents' health and well-being. Second, it promoted a strong sense of community by mobilizing volunteers for this activity,” Dr. Guerrero said.

“During the whole activity, I felt safe as health and safety protocols were kept in place and observed. The process was also efficient. Truly, this was a significant step towards helping the community and in a larger sense, the country by achieving herd immunity,” she added.

Like Dr. Guerrero, other vaccinees commended their PMO for facilitating the community vaccination event for the benefit of the residents especially those who have difficulty going to the vaccination sites like the elderly and those with special needs.

“I liked that there is such a community event because the situation of the pandemic has been really hard on all of us. Thus making this event for our community is really well appreciated,” One Castilla Place resident Patricia Infantado said.

“Well done you guys in PMO and everyone who made this possible. Life’s concerns become more bearable with people like you. Give yourselves a warm pat on the back for a job well done,” Zinnia Towers resident Joseph Calbay for his part said.
